Democratizing Access to Consulting Opportunities
As a young company, we understand that building a strong foundation of DEI is essential to a mission-driven approach. We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are integral to both business success and positive social impact, and we are committed to growing and adapting as we integrate these values into all that we do at North Oceans.
Sandra Lucky
Democracy traces its roots to ancient Athens, Greece—a foundational idea built on equal voice and collective progress. It’s inspiring to consider how the principles of democracy, birthed in that era, can still resonate and shape a modern company like North Oceans. For us, democracy reflects a culture of innovation, where everyone’s ideas matter and where we strive to create a platform where opportunities are accessible to all.
As a female-founded team, we understand firsthand the challenges that women often face in attaining leadership roles. In fact, recent data from the McKinsey Women in the Workplace report shows that women remain underrepresented at every level of leadership. This understanding fuels our passion for supporting and empowering others, creating pathways for women to lead and succeed.
Transparency is at the core of who we are. To uphold this value, we pledge to produce a DEI Report in 2026, a step that will enable us to assess our progress, hold ourselves accountable, and keep our community informed.
Economic Empowerment and Financial Literacy
By providing resources that foster economic independence, we empower individuals from all backgrounds to build stronger financial foundations, crucial for career success and self-sufficiency.
Education and Knowledge Sharing
Knowledge is power. We aim to remove barriers to education and professional growth, making expert insights and tools accessible to all.
Women Empowerment
As a team that values gender equity, we champion the advancement of women in consulting and beyond, creating pathways that support women’s leadership journeys.
Financial Literacy Workshops
We will partner with high schools, CEGEPs, colleges, and universities to deliver financial literacy workshops. These sessions will cover essential topics like budgeting, debt management, and investing. By helping early-career professionals develop sound financial skills, we’re equipping them with the knowledge to thrive.
North Oceans Scholarship
In 2025, we’ll announce the North Oceans scholarship, aimed at recent graduates from minority groups. This scholarship will provide one year of free access to our platform, mentorship opportunities, skill-building resources, and more. It’s our way of ensuring equitable access to career development for all.
Visibility for Women in Consulting
We’re committed to partnering with organizations that support women in business and technology. Through blog articles, social media features, and special Q&A events, we’ll highlight the stories of women in consulting, fostering visibility and creating inspiring role models.
